Using the Humanities Library

Admission

• The Humanities Library is open daily to all University card holders and Bodleian Reader card holders. You must have your card with you in order to enter the library. Please check opening hours before you visit. 
• If you are not a member of the University, find out more about how to apply for a Bodleian Reader card.
• Access to the Schwarzman Centre at weekends and after 8pm on weekdays is via the out-of-hours door on the east side of the building.
• 24/7 access to the library's ground floor spaces is available to Humanities Division students who have signed up for 24/7 access to the Schwarzman Centre – see the building intranet for further details.

Rules and regulations

The Bodleian Libraries Regulations and Rules of Conduct apply in this library. 

Food and drinks are not allowed in the library, except for bottled water or hot drinks in KeepCups.

General information

• The library reading rooms are spread across three floors, with collections on the first and second floors. Step-free access is available via a lift.
