Help guides
As well as the services offered within our libraries and by our staff, there are many online resources to help you find information, learn new skills, and keep up to date. Our help guides offer information on a wide range of topics such as pre-clinical medicine, biomedical sciences, systematic reviews, medical law and ethics, and the Oxford University Research Archive (ORA). Browse the full list of subject and help guides in the Medical Sciences.
Our bibliometrics guide covers a range of 'impact factor' tools and concepts such as h-index, Altmetric, journal rankings, Journal Citation Reports, SCImago Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, Essential Science Indicators, ORCID, and much more. You can also contact your local outreach librarian for one-to-one help and advice, or to organise a training session for your team.
We can help you with public engagement with your research, including help with making your work discoverable, help you research public engagement strategies, and help you find sources of support for public engagement. We may also be able to help you engage with the public via links with our displays and exhibitions.
