Services and facilities at the Girdlestone Memorial Library

 

 

Borrowing

Girdlestone Memorial Library offers borrowing current Oxford University staff and students with a University card, and employees of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Check at one of our library helpdesks that your borrowing rights have been activated.

Almost all the books in the Bodleian Health Care Libraries can be borrowed. To borrow books, take them to the issue desk in the library or use the self-service machines. To renew an item, log in to your SOLO account, or request a renewal by emailing hcl-renewals@bodleian.ox.ac.uk or phoning 01865 221936.

 

Print, Copy and Scan (PCAS)

The Bodleian Health Care Libraries offer Print, Copy and Scan (PCAS) facilities for self-service printing (colour and black and white), photocopying and scanning. Find out more about using PCAS.

 

 

Connect to Wi-Fi

OUH Guest Wi-Fi is available at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre Library.

Use library computers

Bodleian Libraries and NHS PCs are available in the Health Care Libraries. Find out more about how to log into and use reader PCs. The libraries also offer NHS computers for convenient access to the intranet, quick links to OUH emails and the e-learning platform. You will need an OUH Trust login to access these PCs.

 

Request or reserve items

Around 8 million items held by the Bodleian Libraries are stored in closed stacks or offsite. These are not immediately available but must be requested for delivery to a library. You can order books for delivery to the Bodleian Health Care Libraries to consult there. Find out more about how to request and reserve items via SOLO.

Some BHCL and RSL books can be transferred between the various BHCL and RSL sites. To request a transfer, email HCL Enquiries or RSL Enquiries with the book and delivery site details.

 

 

Book the Group Study Room

The NOC Library has a Group Study Room available for library users to book. It has a capacity of 4 people and can be used for group or individual work. Find out more about how to book the Group Study Room.
