Accessibility

The University Access Guide also has detailed information about the accessibility features of the Saïd Business School and the library.

The Sainsbury Library is accessible by lift or stairs.

Doors to the Lower Reading Room on the first floor can be powered for individual users if needed – contact the building reception team to activate your card (+44 (0)1865 288800, reception@sbs.ox.ac.uk).

Assistive animals are welcome in the library.

For level access to the entrance, take the ramp from the right-hand side of the building up to the paved area in front of the glass frontage. Please contact reception if you require parking.

The library desk is fitted with a hearing loop.

The library has wide aisles and open spaces. If you have difficulty finding your way or getting books from top shelves, please ask a member of staff who will be happy to assist you.

Support and services

Please call on the library staff if you need help with anything at all while you are in the library: searching SOLO, using electronic resources, finding material on the shelves or anything else.

The Sainsbury Library can provide:

  • coloured paper for printing and photocopying  
  • coloured acetate sheets for reducing the contrast of printed material  
  • an easy-view hands-free magnifier  
  • a laptop/book rest

Two height-adjustable sit/stand desk and ergonomic chairs are available on the second floor.
